We put in the stairs today. First we took the 2x10s and brought one inside and held it up to measure, then we cut 45 degree angles on each corner and refitted, but they didn't fit exactly so we took a pencil and marked off where they should go and then re-cut. One board had a lot of twist to it so that's the one that got nailed and screwed up against the wall. In this picture the guys are putting the sides up. Yes, Victor is wearing suspenders, he says he loves them.
We took 2x4s to make the things the stairs sit on. The ones against the wall are nailed on and the ones against the other side are screwed on. The stairs are 2x6s.
The cats are very enthusiastic about the stairs. They're so happy they have a whole nother room to explore. We still need to put in the top two stairs. We'll do that in the morning.
