Baby is here!

Thomas "Tommy" was born yesterday at 1:34PM, weighing 6lbs 10oz and was 20" long. Under the cut is the birth story, which is a bit long but I tried not to make it too detailed. There's pictures at the bottom.

Health update: Blood pressure has gone down a lot but is still fairly high. Not like "We're going to induce you high" anymore, which is nice. But still "come in twice a week for an nst" high. Course that might also be cause of how close I am, dunno. Due on Wednesday!

So what have I done on bed rest? Nesting!

First, the organization: Bottom shelf will have cups and bottles, some of which I've already put in there. It has that no-slide rubber mat stuff on it. The top two shelves will have shelf paper eventually. The middle shelf will be for mixing bowls, plastic containers, large pans, and whatever else doesn't really fit anywhere. You can see colanders behind the fox plushie. Top shelf will be extra spices, sprinkles, other misc baking stuff (you can see cocoa and baking soda there), ziplocs, garbage bags, foil, etc. The rose was actually a window art thing but I took the chain off it and screwed it into the side instead. The other side will have a paper towel holder. I built this out of scraps we had in the yard. The only thing Victor did was cut the boards, and I let him help me with the paint color. Otherwise all the planning, marking, construction, painting, etc. was all me. I am very picture oriented. If I'd read a tutorial it would have made little or no sense to me. This cupboard was based on this picture:

I know, they're not the same. But it's what inspired me. And I do intend to run trim board around the top some day after I finish the ceiling. And don't worry about me having built it while I was supposed to be resting, I only need to rest for so long a day and not push it otherwise. I spent a good long week working on it.
