The phone company was here today to hook us up. First they dug a hole to put the post. Since we're building a new house we need a new service thing. They charged 60 dollars to run a new line for us.
Digging for the post.
Again.
Since there's neighbors above us who have phone there's already a cable so they had to find it.
Again.
Digging.
Digging.
Cable.
Pole.
Box.
Standing the pole and box upright.
Setting up the pole.
Digging to the house.
It was kinda like a big knife that they drug through the ground.
Again. Had to take my clothes line down but that's ok.
Looking back at the road.
From on top of the hill.
From the driveway.
Running the cable.
Tiretracks are pretty much all that's left now.
The box. We probably have internet now but we haven't had time to check.
To put the siding on we need to nail it onto the studs. To find the studs from the outside one person climbs a ladder on the inside, the other on the outside.
They take a rope thingie that's inside a holder (like a tape measure kinda thing) and hold it over the studs.
Then you pull it tight and twang it and a chalk line is left on the wood. I wonder if this would be good for sewing? Except for marking grain lines I don't know what use it would really be, though.
Victor uses my little girly hammer. haha
Me!
Victor holds a board over the doorway, a header.
The guys work on the header again.
From the oustide.
Now we cut a board to the right length.
The guys held it up.
And then they nail it into the wall. This will be part of what the second floor sits on. I know it's not a very high ceiling but it'll be good.
